It’s been an intense couple of weeks of conferences here in the UK with Insurtech Insights and the Aventedge Catastrophe conference. We fitted in our own successful “insurers investing in technology” evening reception and a breakfast event with e2Value along with a couple of video recordings. Despite some headwinds, spring is coming soon and we are hearing positive stories about funding, new ventures and collaboration.

ARMD: Total tool protection

InsTech’s Tara Allsopp joined Devin Chawda, Co-founder and CEO of ARMD, to discuss ARMD’s ecosystem of protection for tradespeople in the UK, providing tools, insurance and risk management services. The two discussed the importance of providing insurance to traditionally underserved markets, how to offer comprehensive risk management and the value of embedded distribution.

Azur announces Management Buyout (MBO)

Azur Group, the former MGA and technology company, has sold its technology services business to its senior managers with backing from angel investors. The new company, Azur Technology, will develop digital systems for underwriters and brokers.

Floodbase to provide flood data platform to FEMA

Climate technology company Floodbase has been selected to provide a near-real-time flood intelligence system for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Praedicat announces three-year deal with Apollo Underwriting
