About the event

Women face unique challenges and obstacles in building their careers in insurance. A recent study has found that women make up less than 7% of CEOs in the UK insurance industry.

This International Women’s Day (Friday 8th March), we are bringing together three women who are at different stages of their careers, working across insurance to discuss the stories behind their career growth, the various challenges they had to overcome and key insights into what they wish they had known earlier.

The discussion will touch on ways the insurance sector can champion inclusivity, tackling issues with imposter syndrome in male-dominated spaces and how women can succeed in developing a successful career.

Join our panel in an intimate and open conversation about being a woman in the industry:

  • Ali Smedley, Senior Research Analyst, InsTech
  • Jessica Farrow, Senior Client Underwriter, Vice President, Market Units P&C Reinsurance, Swiss Re
  • Lauren Stables, Head of Digital Trading, Aurora
  • Moderated by Mandy Hunt, Underwriting Community Board, Chartered Insurance Institute
