The best underwriters knew how to combine experience with data and analytics to grow premiums and underwrite profitably. Until recently, too much time had to be spent manually reviewing and working with submissions that proved unsuitable or were hard to price accurately.

In this event, we explored the new tools being used by leading insurance organisations to remove the pain from underwriting and let underwriters concentrate on what they did best. Our speakers included case studies and live discussions from insurers and the companies providing some of the available tools and applications, and how these all fit together.

Programme included –

  • The future of underwriting has arrived – examples from the front line: Juan de Castro, COO, Cytora; Jamie Wilson, Head of Pricing and Innovation, hx; Chris Varley, Chief Data and Analytics Officer, Allianz; and Salman Siddiqui, Senior Director, Insurance Practice Lead, Moody’s Analytics

  • Lessons from losses – how underwriters are benefitting from faster and more accurate property claims assessment, Rosina Smith, Chief Product Officer, McKenzie Intelligence Services

  • The GMBC Story – start, struggle, scale, succeed: Sergey Grazhdankin, Co-founder, Gmbc Group

  • Practical learnings from using Large Language Models (LLMs) to digitise insurance submissions in production (including live demo): Stathis Onasoglou, Field CTO – Fintech, Google Cloud and Aeneas Wiener, CTO and Co-Founder, Cytora

  • Smarter Underwriting for SMEs, Bijal Patel, Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer, Aurora

  • Insurer Perspective, Craig Knightley, Deputy CUO and Head of Financial and Casualty Lines, Inigo Insurance
