Webinar

About the event

Public speaking is a challenge many of us face, regardless of experience or background. But for women, this challenge is often compounded by the disproportionate representation at events and the unique barriers they encounter. If you’ve ever felt unsure about stepping into the spotlight—whether it’s for a webinar, a presentation, or any public forum—you’re not alone.

You joined us for a special webinar where we heard the stories of three women who have navigated these challenges. Our panel delved into the specific obstacles women face in public speaking, discussed the importance of amplifying women’s voices at events, and shared practical advice for building confidence and taking that bold first step.

We also explored how we can all play a role in supporting and encouraging more women to embrace public speaking opportunities and grow professionally.

Key Topics:

  1. Current landscape: Opportunities available for women in events
  2. Identifying barriers: Why women may hesitate to present or speak publicly
  3. Overcoming challenges: Tips to build confidence and skills in public speaking
  4. Leveraging existing resources: How to take advantage of current opportunities
  5. Supporting others: Ways to encourage and mentor other women in the field

Speakers include:

  • Aisling Lavagna, Early Careers Business Partner, Howden
  • Stuart Gallagher, Global Client Executive, Liberty Specialty Markets
  • Susi Ozkurt, Event Director, InsTech
  • Nicola Chapman, Senior Partner & Chief Claims Officer, Consilium (Aventum Group)
