The SME cybersecurity toolkit: How to manage and mitigate emerging cyber risks

Cyber threats represent one of the biggest risks to small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs). These businesses struggle to manage their cybersecurity and associated risks, given a lack of in-house expertise. This lack of experience in managing cyber losses means these businesses are exposed to suffering potential catastrophic losses. There is a growing opportunity for insurers to tap into this market by creating solutions tailored to SME businesses that quantify and manage cyber risks. Yet, insurers are struggling to manage and underwrite emerging cyber risks, for fear of risk aggregation.

InsTech is pleased to be hosting a discussion on emerging cyber risks and the available tools for insurers and cybersecurity organisations, which measure and mitigate these risks. Ensuring risks are quantified and managed help SMEs obtain coverage, the panel will also discuss the various insurance policies which are tailored to SMEs’ particular vulnerabilities given their lack of in-house cybersecurity expertise.

This Live Chat will be hosted by Paul Merrey, Partner and Head of Commercial and Speciality insurance at KPMG, and will include the following pannelists:

  • Mark Tomlin, Partner and Head of cyber resilience, response and recovery services, KPMG
  • Rafael Sanchez, Global Head of Cyber Services, Beazley
  • Matt Jones, Chief Strategy Officer, Cowbell
