How underwriting orchestration connects brokers, MGAs, insurers and core systems
The underwriting workbench was built to solve one desk’s problem. Orchestration takes on a tougher challenge: coordinating work between broker channels, MGAs, insurers, pricing models, AI tools and core platforms. Each connection can remove a hand-off. Each new tool can also create another one to build, govern, and maintain.
Coordinating this matters more as competition increases. Brokers place the same risk with several insurers at once and go with whoever replies first and gives a clear answer, with speed starting to acquire more significance than price. While almost everyone is piloting AI, very few have it running on real underwriting decisions and in a softening market, those gaps compound.
This InsTech evening event, held in partnership with Duck Creek following its July 2026 acquisition of Send, will bring together senior underwriting, operations and technology leaders to test orchestration in practice. Across a fireside chat and two panels, insurer, broker, MGA and analyst perspectives will examine which connections create measurable value, where implementations stall and what has to remain in human hands.
Attendees will leave better able to challenge orchestration claims, choose a measurable first use case and decide what their organisation must own.
Key discussion topics:
- What it takes to make the submission-to-bind journey work as one connected process
- Why some underwriting-platform projects deliver and others hinder
- What has to be in place for a risk to go from broker to bound and which classes suit it today
- What makes an insurer easy for brokers to deal with outside of response speed
- Where AI is doing real work inside underwriting and where it is still on the fringes
